** Our Competition Troupe is meant for all dancers of all ages who are wanting to advance their technique and begin to dance at a higher level, all while still having fun with your friends! NDS believes that competition is not about the trophies (while they are still awesome), but is about teaching life skills and bettering our dancers not just in the studio but as people!
Troupe is not only a commitment for the dancer, as they will spend more hours at the studio, but also a commitment for the families! These dancers practice almost all year round; using summer to perfect their technique and learn new choreography, fall to take classes from master teachers at conventions and workshops, and winter and spring to compete at least 3 times with additional optional competitions available. We are heading into our third competitive season and have already seen immense improvement from our dancers, but that only comes with consistency in attendance and at home practice.
Throughout the year these dancers also have several optional performances to take part in as well. Some we have done in the past include Blair Parade, Washington County Parade, Omaha Beef Indoor Football game, Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch, Fort Calhoun High School Basketball Game, Iowa Wild Professional Hockey Game! These are all optional performances and at very little cost, but can only be offered to dancers who continue to put the work in and attend class!

* Auditions *
** Auditions for the 2022-2023 team have concluded and the team has been chosen. However, if your dancer is interested in joining our team next year please reach out to the coach, Miss Brielle, at 402-679-2065. This will ensure that we can work with and watch your dancer to better prep them for the next set of auditions!
Parents meetings are mandatory for all who intend to audition and will be in late March/early April. No exceptions will be made from now on for attendance of the parent meeting or auditions, this will ensure that everyone is on the same page for the upcoming year and help clear up any confusion.
Auditions are used to evaluate which dancers will work best together and are based on the dancers ability. All NDS dancers must be in our all Troupe production to be offered a smaller group dance; such as, a small group, trio or duet. Not all dancers who want a solo will be awarded a solo, solos are earned in many different ways and can all be discussed with the NDS directors.
While all of this can be a little intimidating, if your dancer is interested at all please reach out with any questions or concerns as we try to be as understanding as possible and are always happy to answer and help in any way we can! Please feel free to take a look at our handbook below for more in depth information as well - for any info not listed please email or text Miss Brielle, [email protected] & 402-679-2065.
